Singing OUT! Now
In the LGBT communities across North America and Europe, mixed choruses are relatively rare. We remain a non-auditioned community choir, bringing musical excellence to the stage and featuring men’s and women’s choral arrangements in addition to the mixed chorus sound. The men and women of Singing OUT! revel in this diversity while standing united as an SATB group.
Musically we cover the sacred to the sacrilegious and everything in-between. Our goal is musical excellence so whatever we are singing, we strive to sing it very well - be it jazz, the Rankin's, "Some of our best friends are straight" or intricate a cappella harmonies…
This season we have three performances planned.

Our mission statement is very important to us and we have put the summary on the top of each page on this site.
PRIDEMUSICBELONGING
We promote pride, both in who we are and in musical excellence to the communities where we live, perform, and find mutual support.
Within the choir, we shall foster a positive image of our common goals of belonging, unity, and empowerment: a reflection of our lives.
Our first director, John Schrag, asked members why they were part of Singing OUT! and what it meant to them. From their answers he wrote "We're Singing OUT!"

Rising up out of the silence, We stand united and proud, Lifting one voice in defiance Singing out long and loud!
Building a bridge of compassion Over the walls raised in fear Sharing our hope and our passion, Shouting that we are here!
We will not hide to appease them; We will be there, hand in hand. Shatter the lies that deceive them, Teach them to understand.
Standing united we're stronger, Never divided by doubt, Silent and fearful no longer, We are the chorus and We're singing out!
