Join us in February 2008!

Open rehearsals accepting new members will be on February 21 and 28. We are starting the preparation for our Pride concert a few weeks late this year due to our early February recording dates. If you like to sing and have fun, have a love of music, and like to revel in our queer community - then Singing OUT! is the place for you!

Singing OUT! is a very special group. We are a community chorus who meet together weekly to sing our stories with pride. We work hard to achieve the best choral sound we can, learning and growing musically as we prepare for each concert. We do not perform with our music in front of us, so be prepared to rehearse on your own as well as at our weekly rehearsals. The men and women of this chorus are vibrant and strong, with an incredible spirit that rings out through every note we sing.

We accept new members in the first three rehearsals each September and the first three rehearsals each January. We would love to see you there! Rehearsals are every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Riverdale Presbyterian Church, 662 Pape Avenue, just south of the Danforth on the west side of Pape, only one and a half blocks from the Pape subway station [map]. Those first three rehearsals are for you to see who we are, how we sound, and whether you want to join us as we share our lives through song. Should you decide to join, you may be asked to sing for our Artistic Director to determine your section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass).

Even if you don't sing, you can be a part of this friendly, exciting community organization as a non-singing volunteer! There are many opportunities to learn new skills and meet some great people. Due to media coverage of our performances, members of Singing OUT! must be prepared to be publicly identified as a member of an LGBT chorus.
